vacation withdrawal.

I mean at least I don't have the shakes.  Yet.   I am attempting to come down from my all-inclusive-resort-vacation-high by recognizing that papas fritas are not a food group……and that mimosas do not count as a serving of fruit………….and I’m starving.  For bad food.  It's pretty tough to get back on the healthy train after eating 200 meals a day and having desert with each one.  So…..due to the fact that I am a firm believer in giving into cravings (in moderation of course), I have created a few monsters that have curbed my sweet tooth this week.....basically part of the rehab program.  Slowly weaning off the sweets (baby steps).   Both are a good source of protein and are made without any added sugar.  I loaded them both with dark chocolate chips…..so there’s that….but otherwise pretty healthy alternatives to the gallon of Graeter’s mint chocolate chip ice-cream I was going to eat.

Directions:

Café Mocha Brownies
2 ½ scoops of chocolate protein
2 eggs
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla extract
2 packets of Advocare Coffeccino
1/4 cup chocolate chips (or a lot more if you want :).....and some to sprinkle on top)

Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Cookies
¼ cup oats
2 scoops chocolate protein
1 egg
2 tablespoons of flax-chia seed blend (ground)
1 tsp vanilla
3/4 cups all-natural peanut butter
Shaved coconut

1.  Preheat oven to 375.
2.  Mix ingredients thoroughly in mixing bowl (leave a handful of chocolate chips out for topping).
3.  Lightly grease 8 x 8 baking pan.
4.  Add batter and smooth evenly in pan.
5.  Bake for 10-12 minutes, using a toothpick to ensure the middle is done.
6.  Top with chocolate chips.

1.  Preheat oven to 375.
2,  Combine ingredients (minus the shaved coconut).
3.  Spray cookie sheet with cooking spray.
4.  Arrange dough into 8-12 balls on the cookie sheet.
5.  Bake for 10-15 minutes.
6.  Top with shaved coconut.

**Disclaimer:  These are kind of dry cookies….especially if you use all natural peanut butter.  I only cooked my batch for 12 minutes and they turned out well.  You could definitely play around with this recipe for a more gooey/sweeter effect if you desire!

You could definitely use instant coffee packets in substitution for the coffeecino packets.
